"We are only here to do a census," they said, entering the Baobab transit center for refugees and migrants. It was still dark when they arrived: 60 policemen in full riot gear with their dogs and two armored vehicles blocking the tiny road. Men, women and children were forced outside to be identified, and those found to be without documents were taken away to receive their expulsion orders. There are no answers yet as to the reasons for the unprecedented police operation conducted on November 24 at the Baobab. The center's volunteers are still in shock over the raid.
