The prestigious competition showcases Irish, European and international film talent in the area of human rights filmmaking. Deliberations on the wide selection of international entries have begun. A shortlist for consideration by the competition’s Jury will be announced in early June, and will be the subject of a national gala screening in one of Europe’s leading arthouse cinemas, Dublin’s Light House Cinema, on 26 June.
Jury members include renowned filmmakers Kirsten Sheridan, Pamela Yates, Lenny Abrahamson and Rebecca Miller, and Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning actors Stephen Rea and Brenda Fricker.

The Value of Women in the Congo, a hard-hitting documentary on sexual violence in the Congo, emerged the winner in last year’s competition. It can be viewed on the website along with all other past shortlisted films.
