Twenty-two percent of homosexuals and 25% of lesbians in the Netherlands every now and then feel unsafe in their own neighborhood, while this is the case for 14% and 22% of heterosexual men and woman, respectively. This appears from statistics collected throughout 2013 that were presented last week by Statistics Netherlands. Homosexuals and lesbians also experience more trouble with loitering youths and local residents. Member of the House of Representatives Ahmed Marcouch (Labour Party) has asked parliamentary questions about this to Minister of Security and Justice Ivo Opstelten.
