Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader Mark Rutte (VVD) says that everyone who disregards the fundamental values of the Netherlands, should leave. He seemed to hint especially at migrants. The VVD posted a full-page advert in de newspapers with the message: "Act normal, or go away." Later, Rutte stressed that everyone has the choice to leave. "If you don't like it here, leave the country, go away!" The statements were received with criticism from Parliament. Rutte is accused of using populist techniques to win votes back from the far-right Party of Freedom (PVV), led by Geert Wilders.
