The Polish Senate confirmed the appointment of Dr. Adam Bodnar, deputy president of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, to the position of the Human Rights Defender. Dr. Bodnar created HFHR's Strategic Litigation Program and developed the practice of strategic litigation in the area of human rights. "We are extremely happy about Adam’s appointment to the position of Human Rights Defender," says Danuta Przywara, president of HFHR. "I am certain that Adam’s passion and commitment to human rights will result in a marked improvement in their protection."
