Ahead of the European Parliament elections in May, a new report warns that not a single EU member state has ensured that elections are accessible to all. Released on 20 March by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), "Real rights of persons with disabilities to vote in EP elections" estimates that some 800,000 EU citizens suffering from mental health problems or with an intellectual disability will be deprived of their right to vote because of national laws in 16 member states.
The EESC's full report is available here.
