Thus far, 93 MEPs have signed Transparency International's pledge to bring "new standards of integrity and transparency" to EU lawmaking. The anti-corruption watchdog is calling on all MEPs to sign the pledge and cites major flaws in the transparency of the EU's legislative process. “The stakes are high,” said Carl Dolan, Director of TI's EU Office, which estimates that over 120 billion euros is lost to corruption each year in the EU. "Public policy and public money need to be put to work for public and not private interests."
