Veselin Mareshki, the leader of the political party Volya and the deputy speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, has urged fellow MPs to declare their "homosexual conflicts of interests" as well as drug or alcohol addictions. Otherwise, they should leave the National Assembly. According to Mareshki, this will ensure transparency regarding the way MPs vote. None of the other political parties responded to Mareshki's homophobic appeal.
