Earlier in January, the Danish press
reported that many
doctors were refusing to prescribe medicinal cannabis despite it now being
legal under a four-year trial that started on 1 January. In the first
month of the new scheme, which provides for legal trials for the treatment of specified conditions, 111 patients received medicinal cannabis, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health. Ailments
eligible for the treatment include multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, spinal
cord injuries and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
