Two demonstrations took place on October 22 in
front of the Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT) building: one against censorship,
and one in support of free press. The Forum of the Nation spoke out against
the national broadcaster's "systematic attempts" to censor opinion and “annoying globalist propaganda”. Several hundred protesters held up slogans including “The occupants left, the communists remained” and “The LRT is
free, since it doesn’t serve Lithuania”. At the same time, the Lithuanian
Liberal Youth held a counter protest supporting the LRT,
stressing the need for media freedom.
