One doctor and one nurse responsible for healthcare at the Migrant Internment Center in Madrid will go on trial for the 2011 death of Samba Martine, a Congolese inmate who died after 10 visits to the infirmary for various pains that were not properly treated. A later autopsy revealed she had HIV. The expert report provided by the accusation, drawn up by various NGOs, holds that "the treatment of her HIV infection would have notably diminished her risk of death."
