Dutch authorities are increasing their requests for information from Facebook. In the first half of this year, government agencies requested data 41 times (relating to 45 Facebook accounts), compared to 43 requests made throughout all of last year. In 56% of the cases, Facebook did in fact disclose data (compared to around 36% last year), the Internet giant writes in a half-yearly report. Compared to other European countries, the number of requests made in the Netherlands is not very large. In Sweden, for example, the data of 334 accounts were requested and 80% of those requests were granted.
