Dutch coalition parties PvdA (Labour) and VVD (Liberal) disagree on the best way to address the increasing demand for social housing caused by the flood of refugees. According to the PvdA, the solution is to build more housing units, but the VVD doesn't share this belief. "The rise of the number of refugees to Europe must not lead to longer waiting lists here," said PvdA MP Jacques Monasch. The Liberals are only willing to give housing preference to refugees with permanent residence permits and not to temporary refugees.
