MP Malik Azmani for the Dutch VVD party (Liberals) has recently stated that he thinks that migrants should only receive Dutch citizenship after 10 years. Currently, migrants are eligible after five years. The bar should be placed higher, says Azmani: "You have to adjust to society. Earn respect. Only then you earn the rights that come with it. You first have to show that you have something to offer before you ask for any favors."
