Earlier this month, the Dutch public prosecutor asked a Rotterdam court for a 30-month prison sentence (of which 10 would be probation) against a 28-year-old man from Dordrecht. According to the prosecutor, the man contributed to terrorism by transferring some 17,000 euros to his brother, who was known to have travelled to Syria in order to take part in the violent jihad and was placed on the UN sanction list in September 2014. The suspect knew it was illegal to transfer money to him. According to the prosecutor, the suspect supported the violent war.
