The Dutch opposition parties CDA and PVV want conductors to be equipped with little cameras on their coats in order to fight violence in public transport. ''Bodycams have a deterrent and deescalating effect because people will think twice if they see they're being filmed,'' says MP Sander de Rouwe of the Christian Democratic Party. According to MP Barry Madlener of the right-wing PVV, the images can be used to track down and prosecute perpetrators. ''It's a very affordable and efficient method to find offenders which is already successfully applied in the USA.''
