The Dutch state secretary for security and justice, Fred Teeven, will provide funding to those municipalities in the Netherlands that temporarily have to incur costs for giving asylum seekers whose application has been rejected "a bed, a bath and bread." Last month, the Dutch Central Council of Appeal decided that Amsterdam has to offer night shelter, showers, breakfast and supper until the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has taken a position on this issue. Despite this, according to Mr. Teeven, the obligation of aliens to leave the Netherlands still applies in full.
