The European Commission wants employees to receive equal salary for equal work at the same working location. At present, they can receive a lower pay, because only the "hard core" of the working conditions are valid. This way, someone from abroad with loads of experience may work for a starter's salary. European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen announced that this is going to change. The Posted Workers Directive needs to be revised, in order to give a posted employee the same working conditions as anyone else working in the country.
