A disabled Romani woman and her daughter have been saved from eviction by an emergency measure issued by the European Court of Human Rights. The court may issue interim measures on an emergency basis in order to stop an imminent risk of irreparable damage. Rome is closing many housing centers and shelters in the city, leaving families, children and elderly people without a roof over their heads. The woman facing eviction told the court that it was discriminatory to force them out while offering them no help, and the judges agreed with her.
