On Thursday, MEPs called on Hungarian authorities to extradite Macedonian ex-Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski to his home country. Gruevski has been convicted of abuse of power and sentenced to two years in jail, but he fled to Hungary with the covert help of Hungarian diplomats. Parliamentarians made their voices heard about the issue as part of the resolution on Macedonia's progress towards possible EU accession. They stated that the Hungarian Government's actions amount to clear interference in Macedonia's internal affairs.
