To celebrate the anniversary of the the Jesuit Refugee Service, Centro Astalli has presented a report entitled “Forgotten at the borders of Europe”. The report looks at the growing difficulties facing people looking for safe haven in Europe and analyses what happens to people who are seeking asylum in Europe after fleeing wars and persecution. There report suggests there is an emergency surrounding the protection of human rights at the gates of Europe. The absence of legal entry points for people who need protection forces them to trust traffickers and travel along long and dangerous routes.
