The trial of two men accused of harassing French journalist Nadia Daam online has begun in Paris. The organization Reports Without Borders (RSF) says the case is important as it points to the need to more actively prosecute online trolls who threaten journalists. Daam wants “fair but firm” sentences for the defendants, who were among seven people identified by police investigations after she filed a complaint in November about online threats she received after reporting on online trolls. "The point is to show that there are real people tapping the keys," Daam’s lawyer, Eric Morain, told RSF.
