The Federal Cartel Office plans to order Facebook to stop gathering some user data, it states in a new fresh report. According to German media sources, the watchdog will present the social media firm with a ruling on what action it needs to take in the next few weeks. Facebook disputes the findings in the report. The German body objects to how Facebook acquires data on people from third-party apps, including its own WhatsApp and Instagram services as well as games and websites, and its tracking of people who are not even registered on the social media giant.
