Four humanitarians have been released on bail in Greece where they had been held since August this year on charges of people smuggling. Among the four is 23-year-old Syrian refugee Sarah Mardini, sister of Yusra Mardini who took part in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Mardini and her sister helped save 18 refugees when the engine of the rubber dinghy that was supposed to bring them from Turkey to Greece failed, by swimming and keeping the boat afloat. Mardini and Sean Binder, a German national, still face criminal charges that could potentially land them in prison for decades.
