Hungary's Parliament on Tuesday voted in favor of a government proposal to move all asylum seekers to detention "shelters" where they may be kept indefinitely. Under the law, asylum seekers would be detained until their case is decided, which could take "months," government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs admitted in London last month. "In the future, illegal immigrants must wait for the verdict on their asylum case in designated transit zones at the border," the text of the new bill reads, according to AFP.
