The Health Committee of the Conference of the Regions came to an agreement on the guidelines for heterologous fertilization, also referred to as artificial insemination by donor. The protocol came after a recent judgment from the Constitutional Court revoked the heterologous fertilization ban. Women must be of childbearing potential and not older than 43 years of age, and they will have to pay a ticket. The protocol has received approval from the Conference of the Regions. Italian regions acted to fill the legislative void, but a law is needed now!
