Kurdish communities are under fire since the tensions between the Turkish government and PKK have increased. The building of the Kurdish Community Amsterdam (KGA) club was targeted with threats and vandalism last weekend. The Amsterdam police force has sharpened its surveillance of the KGA building, "both visibly and invisibly." The board of the Kurdish center has repeatedly reported threats by nationalistic Turkish youths to the police. Among other things, the center reported chants of "Death to the Kurds!"
