For the first time in Spain, the Supreme Court has given binding juridical value to a resolution from a UN committee. With impeccable reasoning, the Court says: "[T]here can be no doubt about [UN committee resolutions'] binding/compulsory character for the State Party, which signed the Convention and the Protocol and given that, under Article 24th of the Convention, 'States Parties undertake to adopt all necessary measures at the national level aimed at achieving the full realization of the rights recognized in the present Convention'".
