The Dutch Senate has unanimously agreed to a new way to address scheme arrangements for evading labor regulations. A new law from the minister of social affairs and employment, Lodewijk Asscher, should not only facilitate the fight against exploitation and underpayment of workers mostly from Central and Eastern Europe, but also reduce unfair competition in the Netherlands. Decent employers and their employees now often bear the brunt of others who underpay their (foreign) employees. The law enables employees to demand the salary they're entitled to.
