A resident of Haarlem, the Netherlands, is going to bring a lawsuit against the municipality because of the introduction of digital visitor parking. From 1 September, the municipality wants residents to register their license plate numbers digitally or by phone. The municipality then knows when residents get a visitor and the license plate number of their visitor. "The government should not concern itself with who visits. It's a travesty that Haarlem introduces this. Therefore, it is certainly worth a trial," says Vincent Böhre of Privacy First, who is assisting the citizen in this lawsuit.
