On the 25th of April, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania held that a designer-made advertisement featuring a man in jeans resembling Jesus and a woman resembling St. Mary violated the principles of public morality and offended believers' sensibilities. The court did not consider the interplay between commercial self-expression and freedom of religion, but it did take into account the fact that almost a hundred believers addressed the Lithuanian Bishops' Conference and expressed their indignation at the commercial. The designer was ordered to pay a fine of 2,000 litas.
