The Committee on Legal Affairs has begun its deliberations regarding the proposal to amend the Constitution to define "family" as marriage between a man and a woman. The proposal, signed by 106 out of 141 members of Parliament two years ago, is being actively supported by church institutions and religious organizations. However, human rights lawyers and NGOs are urging the authorities to drop this initiative without delay due to it being discriminatory and contrary to ECtHR jurisprudence.
