Petra László, the camerawoman who kicked a fleeing migrant who was holding his child, was acquitted by Hungary's Supreme Court. She was filmed tripping and kicking migrants at the Hungarian-Serbian border in 2015 and had been sentenced to three years' probation for her actions by a lower court. Hungary’s high court on Tuesday cleared her, finding that she should have been charged with a misdemeanor instead of a criminal offense. However, the judges did say that her actions – which attracted international media attention – were "morally incorrect and illicit".
