Members of the public have shown their disapproval of the intention to appoint P. Gražulis, a Lithuanian member of Parliament, who has repeatedly violated human rights principles, to the parliamentary Human Rights Committee. Within a week, more than 16,000 people had signed a petition claiming that the MP has repeatedly violated Lithuanian law and undermined human rights principles. Three other members of the Committee said they would refuse to work with P. Gražulis. In the face of such resistance, the MP was moved to another committee.
