The House of Representatives on 6 February approved a bill to expand the measures to reprimand or discipline judges for unlawful behavior. All parties in the House voted in favour of amending the Legal Status of Judicial Officers Act. The judiciary has been advocating for such an amendment for some time and advised in favour of its approval. Currently, the judiciary can only take very limited measures when judges show unlawful behavior. The Senate still has to vote on the bill.
