As of 1 November 2019 a law on equal treatment in the Netherlands has explicitly prohibited gender discrimination against transgender and intersex people. The result of the change is that organisations should become more aware that discrimination based on gender identity, gender expression or gender characteristics is not allowed. Individuals are expected to report gender-based discrimination more often as a result of the new law. Read more here.
