Denmark has a "pervasive rape culture" enabled by several factors, warns a new report from Amnesty International. Authorities' failure to address victims' grievances, antiquated laws and a general reluctance to prosecute rapists are all contributing factors, according to the report. It called on the government to do more to address sexual violence and pointed to the 2017 Gender Equality Index by the European Institute for Gender Equality, which found that Denmark has the highest prevalence of violence against women, including sexual violence, of any EU member state.
