Hungary and Poland must allow independent funding for NGOs under the €1 billion Norwegian aid program, which is currently up for renewal, Norway's prime minister, Erna Solberg, has said. In exchange for its access to the EU single market, Norway funds initiatives aiming to reduce social and economic disparities in 15 poorer EU member states, through the so-called EEA funds.
