Too many clichés on immigration are still worryingly common. Is there anyone who hasn't heard, “They are stealing our jobs,” or, “They are invading us,” or other similar racist stereotypes?
That is precisely why Noemi Biasetton, a young and talented graphics student, brought together journalists and famous YouTube users with the objective of combating prejudices by combining the use of a popular means of communication with quality information (provided by Openmigration and independent journalists of Valigia Blu).
Counteract stereotypes
The result is very interesting: YouTubers stay true in front of their webcam with their usual manner, not always serious yet doing very serious work. They counteract widespread stereotypes with reliable and verified information in opposition to sensationalist headlines, which often encourage clichés.
#Parliamone has a considerable and innovative impact. Using videos and YouTubers, this project is able to reach a poorly informed audience, one that is not targeted by traditional media, and spread the truth about immigration and migrants.
#Parliamone, a project that talks about immigration - but differently.
