The Poverty and Social Exclusion Review 2019 identified the poverty of disabled individuals in Lithuania as one of the highest in the EU. The overall poverty risk indicator in the country currently stands at 35%, up from 16% in 2011; for disabled people, the poverty risk indicator is 17.9%. People with disabilities are not always provided with the opportunity or the circumstances necessary to take part in social or public life, with limited ability to work or study. Notably, these individuals experience greater levels of social exclusion due to poverty.
