A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for one year for hacking the online accounts of Dutch celebrities. In 2017, the man hacked the Facebook, Gmail and Evernote accounts of several Dutch celebrities. He then changed the log-in data from one account, after which he pretended to be the owner of the account against the contacts of the hacked people. The court also holds him responsible for the fact that he mainly focused on well-known (female) persons. Because of their status as a well-known Dutch citizen, they are more vulnerable to violations of their privacy, the court held.
