Reporters without Borders has filed a complaint against Germany's intelligence service, the Bundesnachrichtendienst. It says the agency was eavesdropping on conversations the organization had with foreign partners, journalists and other persons and thus threatening the freedom of the press and the protection of sources in Germany. The trial could strengthen Germany’s credibility, since the country was among the initiators of the UN resolution "Right to Privacy in the Digital Age" and should feel obliged to implement its demands at home.
