The Sea-Watch rescue ship which is currently being held in Catania has been inspected by Dutch authorities to examine whether it can accommodate people for an extended period of time. Johannes Bayer, Sea-Watch’s chairman, said that his vessel is well equipped for saving people in distress and quickly bringing them to a safe place. But with European governments not allowing the rescued people to disembark, the vessel has been forced to stay out at sea for weeks. "Our ship is ready and well equipped to help people in need, but we are not a floating hotel" said Bayer.
