A Roma baby has been buried in a French town south of Paris after another town’s mayor reportedly refused to allow her a grave. The girl was born in October and died of infant death syndrome on December 26. The conservative mayor of the town of Champlan was reported to have said that he would save the town’s burial plots for people who pay local taxes. President Francois Hollande condemned the mayor’s actions, and the French ombudsman has recently launched an inquiry.
