The Romanian Senate has passed a bill requiring non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to reveal more details about the sources of their funding. According to the bill, NGOs must publish their income statements every six months. The statements need to outline the person or activity associated with each funding source and the amount of that funding. Any NGO that fails to declare its income could be forced to suspend its work for 30 days. The Chamber of Deputies will also discuss the bill and have the final say on it.
