Florin Iordache, the deputy speaker from the ruling Social Democrat Party in Romania literally showed his middle finger in reaction to the European Commission’s request to immediately suspend ongoing judicial reforms. Iordache stated that the “EU's absurd requests made by some unknown experts would block the whole Romanian justice system” by forcing the government to abrogate new laws on appointments of judges and prosecutors.
