As the last of Italy's judicial psychiatric hospitals is about to close, voices such as StopOPG are opposing a proposed bill to keep them open. Approved by the Senate, the new bill will be about a "modification of the penal code and the penal procedure code for an enforcement of the defensive guarantees and the reasonable duration of processes, as well as the penitentiary order for the rehabilitating effectiveness of the sentences." Put in fewer words, a reopening of judicial asylums under a new name. This is why StopOPG is raising its voice through an online petition.
