The film "Stranger in Paradise," by Guido Hendrix, was awarded the Grand Prix for best documentary at Europe’s leading
international human rights film event, the International Film Festival and Forum
on Human Rights. The Dutch
documentary film is set in a school in Sicily where the teacher welcomes
three different groups of newly arrived refugees with different attitudes. He’s
dismissive with the first group, then full of empathy and good will with the second.
With the third, he represents actual European immigration policy, with all
its complex rules.
