After days of crisis consultations in which the ruling Labour and Liberal Party had diametrically opposed views with regard to the question whether or not illegal aliens who have exhausted all legal remedies are entitled to housing and food in the Netherlands, it has been decided that five Dutch municipalities get facilities to temporarily provide "bed, bath and bread" to such people. The reception, which will be partly funded by the central government, will be temporary to prevent the aliens from staying in "bed, bath and bread" shelters for years.
