A recent report of Amnesty International states that suspects of terrorism are detained under inhumane conditions in the Netherlands. It concerns two detention centers in the country: de Schie and Vught. Amnesty raises concerns about long-term detention of suspects in their cells and systemic body cavity searches. It also found that suspects are not allowed to discuss personal issues with their family members during visits. This undermines their right to private life and family life. Amnesty has published several recommendations in this regard.
